About this property

Welcome to Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Toronto Downtown

Located on Jarvis Street in downtown Toronto, the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Toronto Downtown offers a practical base for visitors looking to explore the city's cultural and shopping highlights. Positioned near major attractions such as the CN Tower and the Eaton Centre mall, the hotel provides easy access to large natural history and art museums, including the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario.

The property features a modest range of amenities including free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, paid parking, and a fitness center. It is both pet- and kid-friendly, catering to a variety of travelers, though it does not have a pool, restaurant, or airport shuttle service. Guest rooms are air-conditioned, and the hotel maintains a smoke-free environment. Reviewers have noted that rooms tend to be on the smaller side but generally clean and comfortable, with some appreciating larger suites available for families or groups.

Guest opinions highlight attentive and friendly staff, with quick check-in and check-out processes, enhancing the overall stay experience. Some comments pointed out that the air conditioning units can be somewhat loud and elevators are small, which might be relevant for those with larger luggage or mobility considerations. The hotel overlooks Allan Gardens Park, offering a green respite in an urban setting, although the location is not always within easy walking distance of transit stations when carrying heavy bags.

As a mid-rise hotel situated approximately 36 to 38 minutes by car from Toronto’s major airports, it serves well for travelers prioritizing central access to downtown attractions over luxury facilities. The Hilton brand presence and thoughtful amenities make it a sensible choice for visitors seeking straightforward accommodation without extensive onsite dining or leisure options.

I had a perfectly good stay in every way! Comfortable beds, complimentary breakfast and wonderful staff! Extra special shout out to Valerie for going above and beyond as a fabulous front desk employee!! Truly made the trip extra wonderful. Also definitely check out Allan Gardens across the street - a great moment of respite during the Toronto winter

My family and I were all quite happy with our stay here. We had a large parkview suite, which had a bed a pull out sofa. I liked the microwave in the room, which I don't see often. The staff was very friendly in all of our interactions. The park across the street is nice...it is a little far from the metro station with a suitcase. The breakfast was simple, but decent for what we paid for it. Overall it was a good value for money. It was nice to be in a hotel after we had a bad experience with an AirBNB in Toronto. Only complaint was the A/C was a little loud, but it was nice and cold at least. We will probably stay here again next time we are in the city.

The staff is very nice and responsive - couldn't ask for more. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but very very small. If you are staying as a family, I recommend calling ahead to ensure you are booking a room big enough - we have 2 teenagers so it's a challenge to stay in a regular room. If that isn't an issue for you, the rooms are great. My only real complaint is that the elevators are absurdly small and slow. It is a bit further from the touristy stuff than many other hotels but still well located. I do not recommend this hotel to wheelchair users. It might technically meet accessibility requirements, but it would be a hassle for most wheelchair users, I think. Otherwise it is a great option for visitors to Toronto.

Rooms were clean and spacious, but the beds and very firm and the pillows are too soft. Check in/out was super quick and easy both took less than 5 minutes and staff were friendly. The location is pretty good you’re right off of Jarvis and pretty close to Union station but I wouldn’t say walking distance. Some other pros is it is a smaller hotel, only 10 stories plus underground parking so the rooms are on the bigger side. In the morning there is a standard breakfast you’d see in other hotels, nothing fancy about it. They also have a 24/7 coffee station in the lobby which was a nice surprise. Some cons are the elevators are small, you wouldn’t be able to get a wheelchair through the door. The rooms are really dark we had all the lights on and it was still pretty dark. Our window faced directly into the apartment building next door so you could see everyone. And finally the breakfast, as it was nothing fancy there wasn’t much that most people wouldn’t have on the regular for breakfast besides the waffles, which is not necessarily a bad thing but I grabbed an apple and it was rotten so I’m not sure how often they check on the fruits. Overall we didn’t spend much time in the hotel but what we did, we enjoyed for the most part other than some minor inconveniences.

I liked it, I got a little bit confused about a payment, but I think taking out this, everything was perfect. It is a good hotel nearby someplaces you may like to go in the Centre.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. At first, I had a negative impression due to the number of homeless individuals around the building, along with the low ceiling and unusual entrance design (possibly due to the building being partially below ground level), which made me feel a bit uneasy. I even asked the staff if there would be someone at the front desk overnight. Jason kindly reassured me that the hotel and parking are secure, monitored by cameras, and that no incidents have occurred—and he was right. Our stay turned out to be peaceful and safe. The room was spotlessly clean and truly sparkling—one of the rare times in Canada where I entered a hotel room and was greeted with a soft, pleasant scent. I also received a handwritten welcome note, which was such a thoughtful touch that made a big difference in how I felt about the stay. As a vegetarian, I was also very happy with the breakfast—it was delicious, fresh, and had great variety. Staff in breakfast were really kind and friendly. I’m used to hotels offering 24-hour coffee, but this hotel went even further by providing hot chocolate and apples too, which I appreciated so much. The hallways did feel a bit stuffy and could use better ventilation, and the elevators are very small. There was no elevator in the parking area to hotel which made it difficult to bring luggage up from the parking level. It’s much easier to load and unload bags directly at the main entrance. Overall, despite a rocky first impression, the hospitality, cleanliness, and small thoughtful gestures truly turned my stay into a memorable one.

I had an incredible stay here. The girl who checked us in at the desk whose name escapes me, and Scott, were both wonderful. The location is central to everything and our view of the gardens was beaufiful. I appreciate a green view in a city of buildings. Our room was excellent and immaculately clean. I'm going to stay here every single time I'm in Toronto. I loved it.
